| Little River to Offer Green Power |

Little River Electric Cooperative will soon be offering Green Power to our members. Green power is electricity generated by renewable resources like solar, wind, and decomposing garbage in selected landfills. These resources are replenished naturally and minimize harm to the environment. Generated by Santee Cooper and distributed by Little River Electric Cooperative, South Carolina's Green Power plant collects methane gas from the Horry County Solid Waste Authority Landfill and the Lee County Landfill SC, LLC, and the Richland County Landfill. There, the methane gases that would normally be released into the atmosphere-gases that possibly contribute to global warming-will be used as "green power" fuel. Green Power Pricing 100 kWh/1 Block: $3.00 per month 200 kWh/2 Block: $6.00 per month 300 kWh/3 Block: $9.00 per month
